VMLY&R Amman has recently added a new achievement to the growing portfolio of awards for its breathtaking Last Possessions campaign, created for Save the Children: the agency has won a prized Silver Pencil at The One Show—one of the world’s top award programs in the field of advertising, design, and digital marketing.

The Silver Pencil was awarded in the Print category, under ‘promotional items, booklets, books, and brochures,’ while the agency received an additional Merit in Print, under the ‘editorial and books’ sub-category. VMLY&R Amman’s latest win marks the first time in history that Jordan has been recognized at The One Show. The organizers of The One Show, The One Club for Creativity, have also ranked VMLY&R Amman as one of the top five creative agencies in the Middle East and Africa, further building on the agency’s global recognition and reputation for creative excellence.

The Last Possessions campaign for Save the Children was a collaborative effort between VMLY&R Amman and the agency’s regional partners at VMLY&R Dubai, taking a heartrending look at the impact of war and displacement on young refugee children. Solemnly commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Syrian crisis, The Last Possessions has touched the hearts and minds of people across the globe: countless individuals in dozens of countries have already downloaded the Last Possessions e-book, and Save the Children received a substantial increase in donations as a direct result of the campaign.

To date, The Last Possessions has won a number of the global advertising industry’s most prestigious awards and accolades: in addition to its recognition at The One Show, The Last Possessions won a Bronze Lion at the 2021 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, in the highly competitive ‘Design Lions’ category; a Gold award at the 2021 London International Awards in the category of Design – Direct Marketing; a Bronze award in the Print Advertising category at The Caples Awards; and two Bronze awards—in the Print & Publishing and PR categories—at the 2022 Dubai Lynx Awards.

“It is truly an honor to continue to be recognized for a campaign that is so near and dear to our hearts,” explained VMLY&R Amman Executive Creative Director Emad Khayyat. “The Last Possessions represents an incredible collaborative effort between our team and our regional counterparts in Dubai, and serves to demonstrate the power and resonance of creativity with a purpose.”

Commenting on the latest win, the Managing Director of VMLY&R Amman, Ivan Milovanovic, said, “At VMLY&R, creative excellence is an essential part of our DNA, and a key component of what makes us a market leader—both locally and regionally. Receiving the Silver Pencil at The One Show is yet another affirmation of our team’s creative leadership, and of the passion they put into everything they do. I would like to thank our local team as well as our regional counterparts for all their hard work, and I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Save the Children for allowing us to stretch our creative muscles in the service of their very meaningful and impactful work.”

The CEO of MENACOM Jordan—the communications conglomerate under which VMLY&R Amman operates—Relja Jovic, also spoke on the occasion of the agency’s most recent achievement, saying, “As the most awarded communications group in the Kingdom, MENACOM is proud to continue putting Jordan on the global creative map through these kinds of high-profile accolades. Beyond demonstrating the creative strength of our agencies, this latest award—a first for Jordan—is a testament to how MENACOM is continuously elevating the standards and capacities of the local market and ultimately raising the bar for the Kingdom’s marketing communications sector.”

In addition to VMLY&R, MENACOM Jordan comprises five other fully integrated communications agencies: advertising agency Intermarkets, marketing and digital agency Wunderman, public relations firm Asda’a BCW, media and content specialists Wavemaker, and retail marketing firm Interface.
